Walk the Vale 2010

Thank you to all those who supported our 'Walk the World for Brain Tumours' event on Easter Monday. Starting and finishing at Nash Point, Marcross, walkers either undertook the short (6 miles) or long (13.9 miles after remeasuring!) walk taking them through some beautiful parts of the vale. Over 180 people helped us to walk 1520.2 miles, this mileage will now be added to the International Brain Tumour Alliance's 'Walk the World for Brain Tumours' grand total for 2010. The Foundation Committee would like to say Thank you, your participation, donations and sponsorship money will go towards vital research and support.

Clay Pigeon Shoot 2009

Thanks to all those who braved the welsh wind to take part and support our annual clay pigeon shoot on Sunday 27th December. 30 shooters competed for the Ed Evans Memorial Trophy which was eventually won through a final 'shoot off' by Jonathan 'Wingnut' Lean. The John Sedgebeer Memorial Cup was presented to Keith Bradshaw as highest overall points scorer. Following a bracing morning shooting we retired to The Horseshoe Inn, Marcross for a presentation of awards and a well earned chicken curry provided by Tina and Guy.

Walk the Pennine Way

Our thanks go to Ed and Mark, friends of Ed's who undertook the challenge of hiking the Pennnie Way in September. It took the boys 16 days and despite the hard slog they loved every minute of it. There are already talks of Ed and Mark's next challenge a coast to coast hike or even Mount Killimanjaro! We look forward to hearing about your next challenge.

Skydive 2009

Thanks to the group of brave (or mad) individuals including Ed's brother Howie and cousin Louise who jumped out of a plane at 12,000 feet to raise money for the foundation. This was something Ed always wanted to do but never got to achieve so we thought it an appropriate way to raise money. A total of £1500 was raised - well done!
