ED Evans does not do things in half measures.

Ever since he was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour, the former deep sea diver has devoted his time and energy to helping others and raising money for charity.

His latest venture has topped the bill, however.
On Friday April 27 he organised a charity ball at Sophia Gardens, Cardiff, in aid of Cancer Research Wales.

Ed, from Marcross, has spent four years raising money for Cancer Research Wales, so he was delighted that his latest efforts culminated in the presentation of a cheque for a massive £20,000.

He told The GEM: "There were more than 700 people in a special marquee that we had hired, and we held an auction, which was hosted by Anthony Thomas of HRT Estate Agents.
"We were thrilled to donate £20,000 for the charity at the end of the evening."

Ed and his team of fundraisers are now taking a few weeks off before meeting up again to pool ideas for another charity venture.
